I'm an evolutionary ecologist working as director and research scientist at the University of Iceland Research Centre of the Westfjords. My main research interests are on how ecological, environmental and anthropological factors pattern biological variation between and within animal populations. I prefer a broad approach to research, applying molecular, ecological and behavioral ecological methods to the same question or system. In recent years my funded research has primarily focused on global change and anthropological effects on biological diversity of commercial fish population. Current projects include research on the movement ecology of Atlantic cod ecotypes at the juvenile stage, habitat use and migration patterns of anadromous salmonids in relation to aquaculture developments and origin and impacts of the non-native European flounder in Iceland.
