Otso Huitu is an animal ecologist specializing in the population ecology, disease ecology and management of boreal small mammals. He has studied the effects of climate, food resources, predation and pathogen infection risk on voles and their population dynamics. Huitu is Group Manager of the Terrestrial Population Dynamics –group at the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).
