Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Statement
The four international journals owned by the Nordic Society Oikos (Ecography, Journal of Avian Biology, Nordic Journal of Botany, and Oikos) established an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion statement to be acknowledged by submitting authors:
It is the mission of [NSO's journals] to advance synthesis in ecology by promoting an open and inclusive science that reflects diversity of approaches, taxa and environments. [Each NSO journal] recognises that these aims can only be reached by welcoming submissions from authors of all origins, races, ethnicities, religions, ages, career stages, gender identities, sexes, sexual orientations, disabilities, or any other individual state. We request all authors to adhere to Best Practices in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Research as provided by their institutions, funding agencies or other sources.

The Nordic Society Oikos (NSO) aims to create an environment that allows respectful, inclusive, and equal treatment of peers. NSO will not accept discrimination or harassment by any means, based on factors such as ethnic or national origin, race, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, political or other opinion, citizenship, language, (mental or physical) disability, physical appearance, age, or socio-economic class.
In addition, NSO rejects all forms of bullying including threatening, humiliating, or intimidating actions that cause harm to an individual or interfere with NSO activities. Discrimination, or any form of harassment and/or bullying should be reported, which may result in consequences for the offender.
