Funding for personal travel to scientific meetings, organizing scientific meetings and courses is available to Oikos Finland members who are resident in Finland.

Travel grants

Oikos Finland members who will be presenting (oral or poster) at a scientific meeting can apply for funding twice a year. The first deadline is October 31st 2024 and the second deadline is in February 2025. Applications are free form and sent to the Oikos chairperson peter.kullberg(a)syke.fi and vice chairperson marianne.fred(a)novia.fi. Grants are usually in the range of 200-500€ and early career scientists are prioritized.

Please include:

1. A complete budget with itemized estimated costs
2. The title of your presentation and an abstract.
3. A statement from the applicant’s supervisor that the applicant does not have project funding available for the trip.

Event organizing grants

Finnish committees and organizations who are organizing scientific meetings or courses can apply for funding. Events must have open registration for participants from different organizations. The next deadline for funding applications is February 15th. Send a free form application to the Oikos chairperson peter.kullberg(a)syke.fi and vice chairperson marianne.fred(a)novia.fi.  Grants are usually in the range of 1000€.

1. A complete budget with itemized estimated costs
2. List of funding received and applied for
