From the 21st to the 25th of July 2025, I organized the Summer School in Model-based Ordination at Frich’s Basecamp in Hjerkinn. In total 41 people applied of which 26 attended the summer school.

The Eurasian Grassland Conference is an annual event organized by the Eurasian Dry Grassland Group EDGG, with support from the International Association of Vegetation Science IAVS, and this was the twentieth time that such a conference has been held. This year the Nordic Society Oikos was our main sponsor.

The newly launched NØF Communications channel is now open to all NØF members. After the Norwegian Oikos Conference in Bodø 2025, a group of scientists started the networking channel NØF Communications. The course on Open, Reproducible and Transparent Science in Ecology was held at Hjerkinn, located between Oslo and Trondheim between the 6.- 11. November 2024. We had an international group of 13 students from Scandinavia (Norway, Finland, and Denmark/Greenland), Switzerland and the UK.

Our Society

The Nordic Society Oikos Early Career Researcher Grant was used to organise a workshop to educate the local communities to develop digitized biodiversity recording methods on social media. The one-day workshop took place at the A.P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute (APLORI), Centre of Excellence in Ornithological Training and Research, University of Jos, Nigeria.
